The Rockstar Rocky was born and raised in Boone, NC, but moved to Fresno, CA at the age of fifteen where he was a stand-out athlete in football, baseball, track and field, and basketball. By his senior year the focus fell on basketball as he became an All-State and Honorable Mention All-American. After high school, he then attended The Master's College on scholarship for three years before being drafted in the World Basketball League. During college, Rocky averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds per game, with a career highs of 44 and 48 points, 24 rebounds twice, and 48 dunks his sophomore year. ![]() After college, Rocky's hopes of a successful pro career were dashed by injuries and moved on with life. Rocky majored in P.E. with dreams of teaching, but also majored in Sports and Recreation Ministries ful-filling his desire to work in the lives of youth, staying close to sports, and teaching. Rocky worked as the Illinois Director for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and also spent twelve years as a full-time Student Pastor in large churches. An accomplished musician and gifted worship leader, Rocky has written over 50 songs and had several published or recorded. ![]() Divorced now, Rocky was married for eighteen years to his college sweetheart and has three incredibly gifted and wonderful children. Outstanding athletes already at the ages of 14, 12, and 8 he is most proud of their attitudes, sportsmanship, values, work ethic, and compassion towards others. To my kids: "If what you do is who are…who are you when you're not doing it? My legacy is not my speed, athleticism, jump shot, or my golf swing. My goal is for you to be proud when you hear others speak of your dad, knowing that you are on the road to being like him in how you treat, respect, and love others. You guys are a blessing and I love you more than this world will ever know."
